Closer to the Blue Color

Bayern best player Michael Ballack is continuing talks about signing for English club Chelsea, with the aim of reaching an agreement before the World Cup, according to Chelsea Chief Executive Peter Kenyon.

According to the reports, Ballack is out of contract at the end of the season and has said he is in ``serious talks'' with the London institution.

"Talks are still continuing," Kenyon admitted. "We're getting to the stage where we all feel it's going to happen and hopefully before the World Cup in Germany."

In fact, Chelsea is prepared to pay Michael Ballack 121,000 pounds ($216,000) a week, the highest salary in football, the Daily Mail reported last month. The Blues has spent more than 300 million dollars on players since Abramovich bought the team in 2003.

We must remember that Chelsea can clinch its second straight title by drawing at home to Manchester United on April 29.
